Austen's novels are set in the upper classes of English society during the Regency era. Her characters are often well-educated and well-bred, but they are also flawed and human. Austen's novels explore the complexities of love, marriage, and social expectations.
Austen died in 1817 at the age of 41. She is buried in Winchester Cathedral.
